The Hia-Ced Hemajkam seal depicts a Hia-Ced O'odham brave who walks along the Sea of Cotrez. The background is the Pinacates, the place of our Creation. The sand dunes represent us as Hia-Ced O'odham (Sand People). Shells surround the Sea of Cortez as part of the sea, which were used in seashell trading.

Announcing the Hia-Ced Hemajkam Organization Established June 6, 2015

Tucson, Arizona -On June 6, 2015, the Hia-Ced Hemajkam organization is established to explore the options available to become a federally recognized tribe. It is made up of a Board with seven (7) members, representing hundreds of displaced Hia-Ced O'odham. This action is a response to the recent dissolution of the October 30, 2012 Creation of the Hia-Ced District of the Tohono O'odham Nation through the passing of initiative INT-01-14, on April 25, 2015, Dissolution of the Hia-Ced District.
